South Shore Ecstatic Dance is an informal dance community providing an opportunity to explore self expression through movement. People from all walks of life convene to celebrate life, to heal, to move and connect through dancing and music. The sacred space is enhanced through two very simple guidelines: “no talking on the dance floor” and “respect the space and one another.” We play a wide range of music to inspire an ecstatic journey. So, take a deep breath and relax into the flowing music - allow the music, the space, the people, to wash over you as the journey unfolds.
Laugh, play, cry, skip, twirl, fly, and sashay around—knowing any expression and all movement are welcomed and encouraged in the space.

2. Respect yourself and others on the dance floorPlease help us keep the dance floor free from: street shoes, photos, video, and scents.A note on connecting with others:
Ecstatic Dance is created as a safe container, whether dancing solo or with others. Ecstatic Dance is contact-friendly, but keep in mind that we have different levels of comfort to being approached and touched. Please be mindful and make sure the way you approach other dancers is resonant with them.
If somebody offers you a shared dance and you are not interested, simply give them a bow with hands at your heart to say, “no thank you”.
FAQ's
Why can’t I talk on the dance floor?
At Ecstatic Dance, we join together to create a sacred space for dancing. No talking on the dance floor allows us to move out of our heads and into our bodies, hearts, and spirits. We leave behind the words and worries of the day, and connect with spirit and each other in new ways. What do I wear?
Anything that allows you to move comfortably - barefeet are encouraged. What should I bring?
Bring a water bottle. Leave valuables at home.Is there parking?
There is plenty of free parking in the lot.Should I come with a dance partner?
People come to dance alone all the time. You may choose to dance with others once you’re there, or you may prefer to dance by yourself—or both! Are children allowed?
Children are welcome.Do I have to know how to dance?
Ecstatic Dance is about getting out of the head and into the body. It’s not about the way the movement looks, it’s about how it feels. At Ecstatic Dance, you will see a great variety of dances in any given moment – from flowing Tai Chi-esque moves to hopping up and down to break dancing to simply walking or sitting in meditation. Move however you wish.Guidelines
